Modern House of San Remo Drive Residence by KAA Design Group
July 8th, 2010 - Posted in Modern HouseArchitect Erik EVers, AIA of the KAA Design Group have designed modern house design of San Remo Drive residence in Pacific Palidase. The design of the San Remo Drive residence by KAA Design Group draws inspiration from Southern California’s rich history of early modernist residential design namely Schindler’s Kings Road House scene in the material palette and details. Large expanses of glass overlook lush planting and frame views to the gardens, heightening the desire to go outdoors.
Erik used the Pennsylvania blue stone throughout the house, with glass and mahogany stained dark as his primary materials. The living room, kitchen and family room radiate off of it on the first floor. On the second floor, the bedrooms, media room and kids playroom are all extensions off of the central atrium. The staircase at the atrium’s core has detached, cantilevered steel treads and custom designed bronze railings, created specifically for this project.
